Well known Islay farming family the Archibalds will host a free meeting for beef producers, organised at Craigens, Gruinart by SAC Consulting at 11.00 am on Wednesday 13 January.

The event which is supported by MSD Animal Health, will focus on improving technical efficiency for farmers and crofters with special attention paid to disease control.

Included in the list of speakers will be local vet Beth Newman and specialist Helen Carty from SAC Consulting’s Veterinary Centre in Ayr. They will explore the latest developments in the Scottish Government’s Eradication programme for the debilitating disease BVD (Bovine Viral Diahorrea) now in phase 4 of the timetable. They will also discuss Johnes Disease.
