A series of LEGO Robotics Workshops are taking place this summer at New Lanark.

The workshops are part of New Lanark's programme of activities linked to Brick City - an exhibition of over 60 models made from an estimated half-a-million LEGO Bricks. The exhibition will be on display from 28 June to 9 August.

The Scottish Seabird Centre in North Berwick has shared proposals to create a National Marine Centre for Scotland.

Working with partners across the country, the new centre will transform the Seabird Centre to explore marine life above and below the waves - including seabirds. The project will cost around £5.5 million and focuses on delivering new and better education and conservation programmes at the Centre and nationwide. The National Marine Centre is a working title.

Pupils from Inchture Primary School in Perthshire recently visited the factory where Mackie's Crisps are produced.

The trip to the factory at Taypack, near Errol, was organised by the Royal Highland Education Trust (RHET) as part of their mission to give every school pupil in Scotland the chance to learn about food, farming and the countryside.

A free two day training workshop run by Scottish Rural Action, the organisation behind the Scottish Rural Parliament, seeks to train and support new and existing rural campaigners.

The training is supported by the Voluntary Action Fund and led by the Sheila McKechnie Foundation (SMK), which has 12 years’ experience of training and supporting campaigners across the UK and Europe.

Companies in eleven rural areas are to receive more support to help them take on Modern Apprentices

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon confirmed eligible areas for the Rural Supplement on the first day of Scottish Apprenticeship Week, March 6. 

She said:

GrowBiz provides a community-based enterprise support service in rural Perthshire.

Until recently, it worked mainly in the Eastern and Highland areas. Now, in partnership with Business Gateway, Perthshire Chamber and PKAVS, and with funding support from Rural Perth & Kinross LEADER, the service is available across Perthshire.
