Public Panel: Unlocking live events in the Highlands & Islands

The panel will be discussing the way forward for music and live performance events in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, how they see their role and live events in general as we emerge from lockdown. The panel will discuss their artistic and organisational plans for the future, what we might need in the sector, and how lockdown has perhaps shifted their thinking about live events, digital, festivals and the arts in the rural creative economy of the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.

Scene & Herd created the OnFARM podcast because they wanted to share a positive and accurate picture of rural life in Scotland. Over the last year, they have told numerous stories about how businesses have thrived, how individuals have triumphed over adversity, how rural Scotland showcases both talent and tenacity and how science and farming are working together to solve serious challenges.

 More than £25 million is going to disadvantaged and remote communities around Scotland to support regeneration and employment projects.

Three new cycle touring routes and 15 day trips are being promoted by Sustrans Scotland and VisitScotland as part of a nationwide campaign to get people to explore Scotland by bike, as the country emerges from lockdown.

The Jim Clark Motorsport Museum in Duns has been awarded 5-Star status by VisitScotland, the first museum in the Scottish Borders to receive the accolade.

Following a £1.6 million partnership project the museum opened to the public on 11 July 2019 and welcomed 13,000 visitors in its first six months.
