Youth

NFU Scotland are inviting young farmers to a free event which will focus on the future of young farmers in Dumfries and Galloway.

The event at Laggan Outdoor, Gatehouse of Fleet on 18 May will centre on the question: If the average age of a farmer in Dumfries and Galloway was 35, would things be different?

Gary Mitchell, Regional Chairman for Dumfries and Galloway will chair the event, which will explore the future of the younger farmer and next generation in the region whilst sharing opinions, ideas and ambitions.

The Scottish Charity Awards finalists have been revealed and you can now vote for your favourite in the People's Choice Award.

Charities and volunteers from across the country have been shortlisted for the awards, which are organised by the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO).
