Walk & Talk at Scalpsie Farm, Bute

Farmstrong are holding a Farm Walk & Talk this coming Wednesday, June 12th,  thanks to Ian Dickson who runs Scalpsie Farm on Bute.

Starting with lunch at the Kingarth Hotel at noon, the farm tour will follow, and finish up with a talk from Michael Blanche.

An optional extra, is to bring your togs and a towel for a touch of wild swimming at Scalpsie Beach!

Ayrshire RSABI Farm Resilience Programme Introduction Meeting

Farmers in Ayrshire are being invited to attend a free Welcome and Introduction evening at the Volunteer Rooms, Parterre, Irvine KA12 0BA on November 15, starting at 6.30pm. 

Attendees are invited for a sandwich supper followed by the opportunity to hear about the free business support, worth around £2000 per family, which will be on offer via the 2023/24 Farm Resilience Programme, which will run through the winter months and up to lambing time. 

Land Use and Agriculture Just Transition Community Workshop - Brodick, Arran

Ayrshire Region New Generation Farm Walk and Get Together

Join us on Thursday 14 September 2017 at 7pm to enjoy a farm walk of the Logan family’s Holehouse Farm, Kilbirnie, KA25 7LA.
Holehouse has been in the Logan family for five generations with pedigree Ayrshires since at least the 1930s.
It extends to some 4,000 acres of hill land, 250 acres upland and 750 arable at 370’ to 1,670’ above sea level with an annual rainfall at the steading of 80 inches. As well as the 250 milking cows, there are 350 dairy young stock, 180 mainly Limousin cross suckler cows and 1,750 Scottish Blackface ewes.

Irvine Valley Walking Festival

Irvine Valley Regeneration Partnership are holding their 15th Annual Walking Festival on the weekend of 12-14 May 2017.

Along with walks of varying lengths and difficulty level, there are lots of activities taking place including a Twilight Bat Walk, an Introduction to Map Reading and Taster Ski Sessions at Newmiln Snow and Sports Centre.

All walks and events are free.
