The Dickson's farm just over 2000 acres, at Scalpsie Farm on the west coast of the Isle of Bute, split between a secure tenancy and a 10 year MLDT.

Ian farms alongside his fiancé Lisa, who also runs holiday accommodation and a dog breeding and training business on the farm, and are assisted by herd manager Marcus Planck and Ian's father John.

At Scalpsie , they run 850 breeding ewes and around 280 followers and 150 breeding cows and 30 followers and are also just going into the second year of organic conversion.

They also contract farm a further 500 acres on an uninhabited Island just off Bute, where there are 70 Highland cows, plus another 500 acres of hill on contract on Bute, that runs 250 ewes.

The Dickson's will be joined on farm by guest speaker Michael Blanche, host of the podcast, The Pasture Pod.
