Agriculture Bill Consultation - Orkney

As part of the Scottish Government’s consultation process to develop a new Agriculture Bill, nine face to face events will be held in locations across Scotland.

These will be general sessions looking at the proposals of the Agriculture Bill. There will also be five online virtual events focusing on specific themes included in the bill. Further information on these can be found here:

 

Crofting roadshow: Kirkwall

Do you want to help secure the future of crofting?

The Crofting Commission elections will be taking place in March 2017.

At a crofting roadshow near you you can find out more about the elections, the role of the Commission and Commissioners and the importance of making your voice heard.

The roadshow will also have short talks from different crofting organisations addressing key crofting issues, followed by a Q&A session.

Rural Manifesto event - Stromness

Take part in one of the Scottish Rural Parliament's Rural Manifesto 2016 events and fill in the blank pages together with all of rural Scotland!

The Manifesto will be a statement of collective ambitions and the actions that are needed to ensure these ambitions are realised for all of our rural communities.

Refreshments will be provided.

A practical event looking at soil, grassland management, making best use of FYM and slurry, for optimum production.

Speakers include James Bretherton, AgScope and Iain Eadie, Germinal UK Ltd.

The event will be run in the morning (10.00am -1pm) and repeated in the afternoon from (2pm – 5pm).
