Venue:

Organiser:
The Scottish Crannog Centre

Celebrate Easter Iron Age style with pancakes cooked over an open fire; make your own bread rolls baked in our clay ovens and churn your own butter to spread on them. Hands-on fun and learning all in one go!

All events include museum exhibits, talks around a log-fire in the Crannog roundhouse, demonstrations and hands-on experience of ancient crafts
With no electricity or gas in the Iron Age, food would have been cooked over an open-fire or baked in clay-ovens. Join us on Easter Sunday and take a step back in time with our expert guides who will demonstrate ancient cooking methods to produce delicious pancakes and more. Tastings throughout the day.

Plus, you can knead and form bread dough into rolls then bake them in our clay ovens. While they’re baking, churn your own butter to spread on them once they’re cooked.

Inspired by the discovery of a wooden dish containing 2,500 year old butter during the excavations of Oakbank Crannog, this event superb event is the first of many throughout 2016 at the Scottish Crannog Centre.

Booking essential for large groups, otherwise just come along and enjoy the fun!
