Organisation name: Carrick Resilience Team, Caberfeidh Horizons and Connect Berwickshire Youth Project

Funding received: Various Community Led Local Development allocations from Scottish Government

Date awarded: 01/03/2023

Location: Across rural Scotland

When communities across Scotland experience disruptions, whether major incidents like Covid-19, or more localised challenges, they develop unique resources and strengths to get through.

This case study film features three community groups from across rural Scotland and demonstrates how each group has managed to develop community resilience projects utilising Community Led Local Development (CLLD) funding, part of the Scottish Government’s Rural Development Programme.

  • Carrick Resilience Team – grant of £28,585 to purchase an off-road truck to support their volunteer-led rescue service
  • Caberfeidh Horizons – grant of £34,900 to improve their community building and provide support for people suffering fuel poverty
  • Connect Berwickshire Youth Project – grant of £28,842 to replace and increase the accessibility of their kitchen and purchase PC equipment

CLLD is a Scottish Government fund and is a part of its Scottish Rural Delivery Programme (SRDP).

It gives local communities the power to tackle their own, local challenges. By building knowledge and skills, supporting new ideas and encouraging cooperation, CLLD helps to create viable and resilient communities.

Thanks to Inspiring Scotland for producing such a fantastic film.
