SRN have been working in partnership with Improvement Service (IS) to build the capacity of rural and island community councils across Scotland.

In a series of video case study, IS share their experience of visiting the village of Freuchie in Fife to hear about the great work being carried out by their community council.

Freuchie Community Council (FCC) facilitates a wide range of activities which promote the well-being of Freuchie residents such as setting up a Community Larder to address cost of living concerns, running a community cafe to provide a warm space for villagers to meet and socialise and organising the village Christmas tree and Christmas lights.

In this video FCC share how they set about launching a Christmas festival and light display, helping to bring the community together at Christmas time.
