Propagate is a Scottish collective specialising in local, community and sustainable food projects.
Their ambition is to see a world where high quality, nutrient rich sustainable food is available to all, through a resilient food system which is fair to producers and consumers and healthy for people and planet.
Dumfries and Galloway Local Action Group (LAG) provided £10,450 of CLLD funding to Propagate to produce a short film – “Rooted: Growing a Local Food Ecosystem” – and associated learning resources exploring regenerative farming and sustainable food systems.
The film asks how can we work together to create a fair, healthy and sustainable food system?
CLLD is a Scottish Government fund which gives rural and island communities the power to tackle their own, local challenges. By building knowledge and skills, supporting new ideas and encouraging cooperation, CLLD helps to create viable and resilient communities. Decisions about funding are made by 20 LAGs covering rural and island. These are made up of local people and organisations working to improve life in their communities. Details of the LAG structure can be found at: Local Action Group (LAG).
