It began as a grass roots group of people with ideas of how they could have a positive impact on their village by teaching and helping others in the community to engage with the environment.
Beechbrae holds an orchard, garden, mixed woodland with walking paths, labyrinth, woodland centre and a wild pond. These places help to connect people with nature as a way of addressing a variety of challenges.
Beechbrae received Community Led Local Development (CLLD) funding of £7,864 towards the cost of new equipment, storage facilities and materials, which allowed the group to continue their winter wellbeing activities.
The group applied for funding through their Local Action Group (LAG), one of the twenty which distributes the Scottish Government CLLD fund across rural and island Scotland.
