Scottish Rural Action Conference and AGM: Inclusive rural development post 2020: Towards a vision for rural Scotland

The Scottish Rural Action conference and AGM will be taking place on the 20th September from 9.30am – 5pm, with speed networking, volunteer training and the conference dinner taking place on the 19th September.

The conference and AGM is for members only, and there is an opportunity to shape the agenda to tackle the issues you want to talk about. The event is free, but donations are very welcome.

Scottish Rural Action have launched their Action Plan, with key points in five areas they will be taking forward.

An innovative tea growing project in Angus, Perth & Kinross and Fife has received a funding boost from the LEADER programmes in these areas.

The award of £49,550 has been made to Artisan Tea Gardens Ltd by the LEADER Local Action Groups in Angus, Fife and Perth & Kinross.

Artisan Tea Gardens Ltd is a collaborative partnership of nine tea growers, two in Angus, five in Perth & Kinross and two in Fife, who aim to grow 100 percent Scottish tea for lovers of traditionally-made produce.

The new Moray LEADER programme launched at the Morayvia Aerospace Centre recently.

Around 80 people from agencies, businesses and community groups attended the launch event on 26 May to find out more about the £3.5 million fund.

The Rural Leadership Programme is being expanded to the Highlands and Islands.

Scottish Enterprise and Highlands and Islands Enterprise have joined forces, giving people involved in rural businesses in the Highlands and Islands the opportunity to join the popular 13-day programme.

Helping it Happen Awards Night

An awards night will be held in Edinburgh on May 30, 2017, which follows Scottish Land & Estates’ Annual Spring Conference being held at the Assembly Rooms on the same day.

These new awards – which are sponsored by The MacRobert Trust - are being held at the Principal Hotel Edinburgh, George Street, 7.30pm for 8pm.

The 2017 Scottish Land & Estates' Spring conference has the theme 'Rural Investment: Hopes and Fears for a New Era'.

 The event will provide an opportunity to reflect on what the future might hold for rural businesses. Speakers, who will include high profile politicians, policy decision makers, and rural business owners, will, in a mixture of talks and discussion:
