Climate action and a world on fire – what now?

An online gathering to talk about what is happening, how it impacts communities and what is being done.

Date and time: to

Location: Online

Organisation: SCCAN Scottish Communities Climate Action Network

The SCCAN team believes that what happens now truly matters, with this year representing a pivotal moment where action—or inaction—will shape the decades ahead.

SCCAN have found that open conversation, and even the occasional rant, can help release pressure and create space for fresh thinking about what meaningful action looks like in challenging times. To support this, they are inviting people to join an informal hour of discussion with others experiencing similar emotions. The session offers a space for solidarity, mutual support and shared hope amid the turbulence of climate breakdown, global conflict, fear-driven narratives and deepening injustice.

Participants will be encouraged to reflect on questions such as:

• What are you trying, and what’s working or not working?

• How are you living your values, and when does that become difficult?

• What can the network do collectively?

• What untapped power exists when people join forces? • How can communities stand together?

Attendees are welcome to bring their lunch and join for the full hour or whatever time they can spare.

Community groups and organisations in Scotland that are not yet SCCAN members are warmly invited to sign up for free membership and take part in the session.
