David Carruth of Brodoclea Woodland Farm will share his experience of managing ‘woolly’ Mangalitsa pigs within a young woodland system.
He’ll discuss how he integrated pigs for food production alongside wider objectives including timber, carbon sequestration and biodiversity enhancement.
The day will start with an introduction at Dalry Community Centre before travelling to Brodoclea Woodland Farm, where you will see first-hand the benefits David has observed since introducing the pigs, as well as the challenges he’s met along the way.
Speakers from Scottish Forestry will also discuss funding and first steps to woodland creation.
