In-Person Training Course: Fencing, Trumisgarry, North Uist

An amazing opportunity to learn the basics of fencing on your croft with expert fencer Keith MacDonald.

Over two days you will be shown the materials, equipment and techniques needed for ground preparation; putting up basic stock fencing; rabbit netting; adding wire extensions for deer deterrence; minimum requirements for CAGS funding; fencing maintenance; and more!

Numbers will be limited to ensure everyone gets plenty of hands-on practice under Keith’s careful guidance.

Lunch and hot drinks will be provided.

You will need to wear suitable clothing for working outdoors for long periods.
Please also bring your own tough gloves.


Ticket price for two days training including lunch and hot drinks. £100 (£65 for young crofters – 41 and under).
