Many employers across Scotland’s islands face ongoing recruitment challenges. While international recruitment may not be the right solution for everyone, it is can be a valuable option for some employers seeking to address skills shortages, fill hard-to-recruit roles, and support long-term business sustainability.
The Scottish Government is inviting island employers to join a free online session to learn more about international recruitment, hear from businesses that have already taken this approach, and find out about the free support available through Scotland’s Migration Service.
Whether you have experience of recruiting internationally or are curious about what it could mean for you, this session offers an opportunity to explore the options, ask questions, and share your views.

As part of delivering the National Islands Plan and its aims around population retention and attraction, the Scottish Islands Federation (SIF) is working with the Scottish Government and Highlands and Islands Enterprise to raise awareness of Scotland’s Migration Service and the support available to businesses, employers and investors across Scotland’s islands.
