Outer Hebrides Food Resilience Summit

The Summit will feature an array of special guest speakers working in food resilience, followed by Q&As, panel discussions and workshops throughout the day.

The aim of the summit is to raise public awareness on food resilience issues in the islands and identify means of overcoming some of these challenges. In the wake of climate change, the need to adapt our food systems and help them become more resilient is crucial.

This is a hybrid event, with an in-person gathering taking place at the CnES building (Committee Room 3) in Stornoway. The event will be split into three sessions focussing on a specific theme relating to food resilience.

  • Session 1: 10am – 11.30am – Growing Food in the Outer Hebrides, featuring Presentations from Climate Hebrides, The Climate Hub, and Croft 44 Ranish
  • Session 2: 1pm – 2.30pm – Developing Food Networks, featuring presentations from Rich Summers (more TBC)
  • Session 3: 3pm – 4.30pm – Sustainable Innovations, featuring presentations from Bùth Bharraigh Ltd, Hebridean Charcuterie and Atlantic 58 3pm – 4.30pm
