Scottish Edge is a large competitive fund to support home-grown entrepreneurial talent comprising a Dragon’s Den style pitching competition for entrepreneurs who have been trading for less than 5 years. Round 26 opens on 14 August and the main final will be held on 27 November 2025.
Did you know there is a specific award for Social Enterprises, CIC’s and Charities, it offers up to £100,000 (max £70,000 grant, max £30,000 loan) to accelerate growth.
Historically there is a low entry rate for this category across Scotland.
· To date 77 Highlands and Islands winners have gained more than £2.6m in awards
· Main Edge award up to £100k is 70% grant : 30% loan, no repayment for 24 months with negotiation on repayment terms (must be asset locked)
· Applicants can apply into the Main Edge awards for any amount up to £100k
· Wildcard Edge (pre-trading) and Young Edge (Directors 30 years or under) 100% grant up to £15k
· Free consultancy support from HIE to support all stages of the competition
