£22,000 raised at RSABI Edzell charity golf day

A record-breaking £22,000 has been raised at RSABI's Edzell charity golf day

The RSABI Charity Golf Day at Edzell Golf Club has once again demonstrated the incredible generosity and community spirit of Scotland’s rural sector, raising a record-breaking total of £22,000 at this year’s event on 30 May.

Thanks to the enthusiastic support of players, hole sponsors, and donors, the event raised just over £12,000. This figure was significantly boosted by a very generous single donation from a long-time RSABI supporter, taking the final total to an outstanding £22,000.

RSABI’s Head of Fundraising, Pauline Macmillan, extended thanks to all those who helped to organise, supported and participated in the annual golf competition.

“The fantastic amount raised is a tribute to the ongoing commitment of the farming and rural community who have loyally supported the Edzell event over the years,” said Pauline.

“We are extremely grateful for the continued generosity shown in aid of RSABI’s work supporting people in Scottish agriculture. I would also like to extend our thanks to our key sponsors; Castleton Farm, Ingram’s Aberdeenshire, Kepak and NFUM Laurencekirk.”

Following the resounding success of the event, plans are already underway for next year’s RSABI Charity Golf Day, which will return to Edzell Golf Club on Friday, 12th June 2026.

The organising committee members; Arthur Anderson, John Adams, Alison Argo, Nick Canning, John Forbes and Sandy Petrie, and RSABI Fundraising Executive Margo Wills, look forward to welcoming both returning and new participants to another memorable day in support of a vital cause.

RSABI offers free practical, financial, and emotional support to those in Scottish agriculture including counselling services, delivered quickly after receiving the initial enquiry.
