Community organisations across Scotland are being asked to take part in a new survey exploring how funding and partnership relationships with public health have evolved in recent years.

The consultation, led by Scottish Communities for Health and Wellbeing (SCHW), Community Health Exchange (CHEX), Scottish Community Development Centre (SCDC) and the Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland (The Alliance), aims to capture the experiences of community and voluntary groups working alongside public health partners such as NHS Boards, Health Improvement Teams, primary care professionals, and Health and Social Care Partnerships.

The survey, which takes just 5–10 minutes to complete, seeks to understand whether these relationships have changed over the past three years and what improvements may be needed to strengthen collaboration.

Organisers stress that the voices of community organisations are vital. By identifying shared experiences and challenges, the findings can help shape future services and ensure that community-led health organisations are supported to deliver maximum impact in their communities.

Participation is open to any community or voluntary organisation that has been funded by or worked in partnership with public health partners. This includes groups that may not identify as community-led health organisations but whose work contributes to holistic, preventative approaches to wellbeing.

The survey can be completed anonymously, but organisations are encouraged to provide contact details if they wish to be involved in ongoing discussions about strengthening relationships between the community health sector and public health.

A spokesperson for the partnership said: “Community organisations are at the heart of health improvement in Scotland. Their insights will help us understand what is working well and where change is needed. We encourage all groups to take part—your views matter, and they will help shape the future of services.”
