Farmers’ Choir announce support for RSABI and SAYFC’s Big Build

Farmers’ Choir to Take Centre Stage in Aviemore for Charity Concert with proceeds going to RSABI and SAYFC’s Big Build

The Farmers’ Choir is set to head to Aviemore early next year for a special performance to raise funds in support of Scottish agricultural charity RSABI and helping Scottish Association of Young Farmers Clubs (SAYFC) with 50% of net ticket sales going towards their Big Build initiative.

RSABI have announce that Scotland’s largest independent industrial supply group, Highland Industrial Supplies (HIS),  is the headline sponsor of the event, which will take place at the Macdonald Aviemore Resort on Saturday 28th February 2026.

Hosted by Perthshire farmer and comedian Jim Smith, the concert will bring together over 80 choir members from across rural Scotland for an uplifting evening of music, laughter, community spirit and connection. The choir performance will feature a range of well-known cover songs, guaranteed to entertain and lift spirits while raising awareness of RSABI’s work to support people in Scottish agriculture.

Pauline Macmillan, RSABI Head of Fundraising, expressed her heartfelt thanks to event sponsors HIS, saying:

“We wouldn’t be able to put on this event without the generosity of our sponsors and we would like to thank everyone HIS for their support. We are very much looking forward to an uplifting evening of music and laughter while sharing our important message to #KeepTalking and look out for each other at what is a particularly challenging time of year for many in the farming community.

“We’re very grateful to The Farmers’ Choir and our #KeepTalking ambassador, Jim Smith for once again lending their incredible energy and talent to support RSABI.”

Connor Comrie, Business Development Manager at Highland Industrial Supplies Ltd said:

“We are proud to support RSABI and the vital work they do for the people who form the backbone of Scotland’s rural economy. As a company deeply connected to agricultural and land-based industries, we recognise the importance of ensuring that those who work tirelessly to support our communities have access to practical, emotional, and financial assistance when they need it most.”

Choirmaster Kate Picken MBE, a music teacher from a farm in Dumfries and Galloway, said the choir was delighted to be performing in aid of RSABI and SAYFC.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing The Farmers’ Choir to Aviemore for what we are sure will be a fantastic evening, in support of the vital work RSABI does for the agricultural industry, as well as helping our Young Farmers to build their new permanent home,” said Kate.

“As a choir, we are passionate about promoting good mental health in agriculture, and bringing people together through singing, music, and laughter when the nights are dark is the perfect tonic for lifting spirits.”

Penny Mongomerie, SAYFC Chief Executive, said:

“We’re delighted that the Farmers Choir have chosen to support ‘The Big Build’ through their upcoming Aviemore performance. The Choir’s focus on community and connection aligns so much with our project, which will ultimately create a space dedicated to providing support and opportunities for Scotland’s rural youth and the wider farming family.”

The Farmers’ Choir, formed in 2013, has grown into a much-loved part of Scotland’s rural scene, performing at major agricultural events and concerts across the country. The Aviemore performance will continue the choir’s efforts of supporting good causes within the farming community.
