Her background in rural policy and strong communication skills are expected to support the Commission’s regulatory and advocacy work.
Webster, who has spent nearly 30 years in the UK investment industry, offers financial acumen and risk management experience. A resident of a crofting community in the Western Isles, he is committed to supporting the unique role crofting plays in sustaining rural Scotland.
Both appointments are part-time, with a commitment of 4.5 days per month and a daily remuneration of £200.23. Neither appointee holds other ministerial roles or has declared political activity in the past five years.
The Crofting Commission, established under the Crofting Reform (Scotland) Act 2010, regulates and promotes crofting across Scotland. Its mission is to ensure crofts and crofting communities continue to enhance the social, cultural, economic, and environmental fabric of the Highlands and Islands.
