The support, delivered through Inspiring Scotland in partnership with Changing Ideas, will help organisations develop bold, early‑stage campaigning work that tackles some of Scotland’s most pressing social issues.
Seven organisations have been selected, each bringing passion, expertise and a clear vision for change. Their campaigns span a wide range of themes — from improving access to health checks for disabled people, to tackling digital violence against women and girls, to helping older people stay connected and valued in their communities. Others will focus on childcare, community water quality, online safety for young people and ensuring all children have access to hobbies that help them grow and thrive. Celia Tennant, Chief Executive of Inspiring Scotland, highlighted the importance of investing in the early stages of social justice campaigns, noting that while Scotland is full of people with powerful ideas, resources to test and develop those ideas are often limited. This funding aims to bridge that gap, giving campaigners the space to gather evidence, explore solutions and build strong foundations for long‑term impact.
David Graham, founder of Changing Ideas, echoed this enthusiasm, celebrating the opportunity to support Scottish organisations working on issues that matter deeply to communities. He described the funding as a first step toward wider systemic change — a chance to build momentum and amplify voices pushing for fairness, equality and improved wellbeing.
The response to the funding call was overwhelming, with nearly 100 applications submitted. After careful assessment and interviews, the seven successful projects were chosen for their clarity of purpose, depth of knowledge and potential to spark meaningful change.
From empowering young women to lead campaigns on digital safety, to supporting families in advocating for better childcare commitments, to helping communities access vital environmental information, each project represents a step toward a more inclusive and equitable Scotland.
Inspiring Scotland and Changing Ideas will continue to work closely with the funded organisations, supporting their progress and sharing updates as their campaigns develop — ensuring that the drive for social change continues to grow across Scotland.
