The Trust has secured funding through the Landscape Enterprise Networks (LENs) initiative, unlocking financial support to help create new woodlands that deliver environmental benefits across the catchment. The funding package is designed to remove key barriers to planting, covering the full cost of woodland establishment, including fencing, as well as providing ongoing annual maintenance payments.
This new opportunity aims to support land managers in delivering multiple benefits, including improved biodiversity, enhanced water quality, natural flood management, and increased climate resilience across the Upper Forth landscape.
By working in partnership with Landscape Enterprise Networks—a collaborative model that brings businesses together to invest in nature-based solutions—the initiative connects private sector funding with practical land management projects that benefit both the environment and local communities.
Forth Rivers Trust is now inviting expressions of interest from farmers and land managers who are interested in creating woodland on their land. The scheme is open to a range of sites suitable for woodland establishment, with tailored support available to guide applicants through the process.
