Firstport is Scotland’s agency for start-up social entrepreneurs.

They are looking for a Relationship Manager to support the delivery of the Social Entrepreneurs Fund (SEF), a grant funding programme that helps individuals test, start, and build social enterprises. This new role has been created to strengthen Firstport’s support for emerging social entrepreneurs in the North of Scotland.

Firstport are looking for someone who has excellent communication skills, especially in face-to-face and community-based settings; is confident engaging with and supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds, and understands local issues affecting communities in the North of Scotland. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and decision-making skills, with experience in assessing funding applications or similar processes and a passion for social enterprise and making a difference at the grassroots level.

  • Job Title: Relationship Manager (North of Scotland)
  • Reporting to: SEF Programme Manager 
  • Salary: £35,000 per annum
  • Hours: 35 hours per week 
  • Based: Home-based with regular travel across North East Scotland
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Contract: Until 31 March 2026, with potential to become permanent

The Relationship Manager will:

  • Be the primary point of contact for SEF applicants and awardees in the North of Scotland.
  • Guide individuals through the early stages of developing their social enterprise, providing support to help them build strong, fundable proposals.
  • Assess funding applications and contribute to funding panel recommendations using clear and fair decision-making processes.
  • Monitor the progress of awardees, helping them manage their funding and transition through the SEF award pipeline.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with local and national stakeholders, ensuring referral routes are clear and support networks are robust.
  • Raise awareness of Firstport’s programmes in the region and develop a strong understanding of the wider support ecosystem for social entrepreneurs.
