The summit, hosted by Climate Hebrides and the Outer Hebrides Climate Hub, the event will take place on Thursday 26 March, from 10am to 4.30pm at the Comhairle nan Eilean Siar offices in Stornoway, with hybrid attendance options available.

The summit will focus on practical, community‑driven solutions to improve food security and support sustainable local production. Throughout the day, participants will hear from expert speakers, take part in panel discussions and join interactive workshops covering food production, supply networks and climate‑ready innovation. The aim is to spark collaboration across sectors and empower island communities to build a food system that supports wellbeing, reduces reliance on imports and keeps value within the islands.
With climate change and rising costs continuing to affect rural and island communities, organisers hope the summit will highlight the importance of local growing, crofting, community enterprise and resilient supply chains. Climate Hebrides and the Outer Hebrides Climate Hub continue to support these efforts through training, funding and community‑led climate action projects.
Anyone with an interest in local food, sustainability or community resilience is encouraged to take part.
