SURF Awards 2026 open for applications

Scotland’s Regeneration Forum encouraging organisations and partnerships involved in regeneration work to apply or nominate projects that are making a positive difference in their communities.

The 2026 SURF Awards for Best Practice in Community Regeneration are now open for applications, celebrating outstanding projects that are transforming communities across Scotland.

Launched on 4 June 2026, the awards—now in their 28th year—highlight and share successful approaches to tackling physical, social and economic challenges in local areas.

Organised by SURF (Scotland’s Regeneration Forum) in partnership with the Scottish Government, the awards recognise collaborative, community‑focused initiatives that are improving places and opportunities across the country.

Projects can be submitted across five categories:

  • Community Led Regeneration
  • Removing Barriers to Employability
  • Improving Scotland’s Places
  • Housing and Regeneration
  • Creative Regeneration

Applications are open now and will close at 5pm on 7 September 2026. Shortlisted projects will be assessed by an independent judging panel, including site visits where appropriate, before winners are announced on 10 December at a presentation event in Glasgow.

SURF is encouraging organisations and partnerships involved in regeneration work to apply or nominate projects that are making a positive difference in their communities. The awards provide an opportunity to gain national recognition, share learning and inspire further innovation across Scotland’s regeneration sector.
