Youth Led Creative Fund is open for applications.
Are you creative, living in Scotland and aged 8-30?
The Youth Led Creative Fund is now open for applications (from 18th August – 18th November 2025).
Eligible applicants are anyone aged 8-30 in Scotland who have experienced isolation or marginalisation – they can apply for up to £500 for an individual or up to £2,000 for a group and the fund is keen to fund a broad variety of creative ideas, including those from rural and island communities.
These creative ideas can include drawing, knitting, painting, sewing, photography, music, dance, writing, performing, filming, and more!
The fund is being led by a steering group of young people from across Scotland, supported by Creative Scotland and Moniack Mhor. The experiences of individuals in the steering the group helped to shape the fund, with their own experiences of creativity, isolation, and marginalisation contributing to the scope of the fund.
The group have shaped the fund to ensure it reaches as many young creatives across Scotland as possible, and will be reading each application before discussing and deciding on the outcomes based on the criteria developed in conjunction with Creative Scotland.
An application toolkit has been developed to support applicants through the process and includes general information about each section of the application form, as well as sample applications, and a video walk through from a member of the steering committee.
Moniack Mhor is Scotland’s National Writing Centre. Based in the Scottish Highlands, they run courses in a range of genres tutored by some of the finest authors in the UK and beyond. With workshops and one to one tutorials, their courses provide an atmosphere to fully immerse yourself in your writing.
The centre also offers writing retreats providing time and space, free from distractions, where you will find yourself part of a nurturing writing community. Other support offered by Moniack Mhor includes awards, bursaries, professional residencies to develop works in progress and a programme for young writers.
