Schools and youth groups are being invited to be part of the European Rural Youth Parliament process.

The European Rural Parliament (ERP) is a network and a process that intends to express the voice of rural people and communities in Europe. They are in a phase of building the youth voice network and preparing to organise the first European Rural Youth Parliament (ERYP) in Latvia in early August 2017.

They are carrying out a survey that will provide the base for the ERYP and a youth theme under the European Rural Parliament. The survey could be answered in class - particuarly those related to social studies - as well as face-to-face meetings or virtual meetings. They are also encouraging schools and youth groups interested in being part of the wider European Rural Youth Parliament to get in touch.

The aim of the survey is to collect data and case studies from all around the Europe to provide a picture of rural youth across Europe. This campaign is led by European Rural Community Alliance (ERCA), Finnish Village Movement (SYTY) and Latvian Rural Forum (LRF).

The messages will be presented at the third European Rural Parliament in October 2017 in Venhorst, Netherlands, where representatives from around 40 countries will gather, and it will contribute to the future activities. Results of this survey will also be presented in European Rural Youth Parliament in Latvia in August 2017.
